  To me it's the single most important thing missing in monument. Either sync or implement Samba support.

  Just added my support for this.  I'm a new Monument user, and it has great potential, but without ability to edit in Photoshop or another external editor, Monument loses a lot of value.  Easiest and most flexible way to do this would seem to be the NAS visibility.

  Even if it would be a real RAID 1 it would still be a Blackbox without a spare backup. This is meaning you put all your trust in a single system that it won't fail. That is not a good idea. It is even worse when the connection of the devices is USB (that mean it passes two stages/caches more than a SATA connection). The synchronization or the ability to use directly a NAS as storage system (or to install it in a NAS even better) would open the way for professional third party replication and backup services to be used. It would open also the way for more safe file systems or even new file systems...

  Said this, if the software is working correctly and would have this feature I would also pay a 50% premium to buy it and install in my nas (even though a docker).

  Hi, folks, any updates on NAS Functionality? After uploading our images to the Monument device, at a later date, we'd like to use a program such as Adobe Bridge (free) to browse over our LAN and select photos to place in albums. Also, like the prior folks, I would like to be able to synch over of the network. What's the approximate date (or quarter) NAS support will be available? Much thanks for all of your hard work!

  I am trying to understand ... isn't Monument basically a specialized NAS itself with AI built in? It uses the 2nd port is for a hard drive to make a copy of the first drive right? so RAID1 right? I don't know if it automatically rebuilds the drive if 1 fails or not but that would be a feature request if it doesn't currently??

  It is not a NAS. It is an easy to use photo archive with AI features and a really good mobile app. The desktop app needs a lot of improvements for a serious use.

  A NAS is not always equipped with RAID to prevent hard disk failure.There a many one bay NAS systems on the market.

  That Monument uses USB hard disks is in my opinion a good way that also "normal" people get this working. Think about non-technical people how they assemble a normal hard disk in a NAS. Possible, but not easy enough.

  To have the possibility to backup to a NAS or as you mentioned to use NAS space would be great.

  For me enough at the moment would be a builtin backup in the desktop app. You can define a location for backup, internal or external hard disk or also a network drive and then push BACKUP. The best would be a direct backup to NAS, automatically.
