Providing a standard CIFS/NFS interface

Hello,

Does anyone see merit to the NAS device providing a standard CIFS/NFS interface? Monument's apps are getting better for phones/tablets - however for the PC, nothing provides the same experience as accessing the device like a network share. For a photographer like me, editing pictures would mean simply navigating to the right folder using the Windows explorer, making edits and saving content. There won't be any need to export/download/upload - all file related operations would simply be performed like any other on PC. 

Thoughts?

  Thanks for sharing this.

  I'd like to clarify one more detail with you; would you need versioning control for the files you sync with Monument? Or simply it should act like a drive; allowing you to create folders, transfer files and when you finish the editing, Monument will use the latest version?

  I don't think versioning is a burning need. It would surely help advanced users. For the moment, just looking at the possibility of accessing it as drive or a network share. Applications should be able to work with the media on the device like any other local file.

  For me, this feature would transform the product from a 'that looks interesting' to, 'I'll buy one'.
