How Monument handles duplicate photos?

Monument scans your photos and analyzes the file data (file name, size, resolution, pixels, bytes, etc.) to prevent duplicate copies to be backed up. Based on this criteria, Monument will not back up photos that are exactly the same even though the filenames are different.

Note: Edited and unedited versions of the same photos are both backed up.
Note: The same photo downloaded on different devices often have very minor changes that make them unique. In this case, all copies will be backed up.
Note: Monument 2 comes with a feature that allows you to keep the highest resolution and delete the rest of the copies automatically. You can access this feature by selecting Settings > Review duplicates using the Monument apps.
